DLSU Celebrates 75th Year Jubilee of Historical Chapel of the Most Blessed Sacrament

The Lasallian community celebrated the 75th year jubilee of the Chapel of the Most Blessed Sacrament, located at the second floor of the St. La Salle Hall, last December 2, with a mass presided by a La Salle alumnus, Rev. Fr. Benildus Maramba, OSB.

The Chapel became a refuge for the Christian Brothers, priest, and families who sought shelter in its hallowed halls during the darkest days of the Second World War.

Vice Chancellor for Lasallian Mission Br. Michael Broughton FSC noted how the Chapel has become a place of sanctuary for the faithful and a symbol of the joint aspirations of the members of the Lasallian community. It is the center and the heart of the shared commitment of Lasallians to serve God and follow his will through faith, service, and communion.

Br. Michael shared a brief history of the Chapel, mentioning among others, its consecration as well as the reconciliation, rededication, and the reparation ceremonies held there after the war.
