DLSU is the lone PHL private university in THE Emerging Economies Rankings
De La Salle University is among the top global institutions in the Times Higher Education Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020. DLSU is in the 351-400 bracket, and is for the second year, the lone private university from the Philippines to make it into these rankings.
The emerging economies rankings include colleges and universities in countries identified by the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE Group as “advanced emerging”, “secondary emerging”, or “frontier.”
Only 533 institutions from 47 countries met the criteria to be included in the rankings.
The rankings apply the same research-intensive indicators as the THE World University Rankings to evaluate institutions on their teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook, but are recalibrated to reflect the development priorities of universities in emerging economies.
DLSU is also ranked in other THE 2020 rankings. It is the country’s top-ranked institution in the THE Engineering and Technology and Physical Sciences Subject Rankings.
In THE’s Social Sciences Subject Rankings, the University is the only private university among the ASEAN higher education institutions that qualified to be in the list.
The Times Higher Education lists the world’s best research universities, requiring a minimum threshold of Scopus publications, combined with data on teaching, innovation, international outlook, and reputation.
