DLSU College of Law offers free seminar on international commercial law

DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY opens its campus for a free seminar on common law governing commercial contracts and business transactions in the global market with DLSU College of Law Visiting Professor Atty. Lee Mason on July 30, 2013, 2-4 p.m., at the Gonzalez-Fajardo Theater of the DLSU Br. Andrew Gonzalez Hall.

Atty. Lee Mason

Atty. Mason, deputy director of Juris Doctor program of the University of Hong Kong, is the author of the current leading text on Hong Kong Contract Law. A Barrister, he was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2005. He is also a Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) accredited mediator, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

TO GIVE DLSU College of Law (COL) students a hands- on learning experience in the practice of law, the College recently launched the Developmental Legal Advocacy Clinic (DLAC).

DLAC is the clinic legal program of the DLSU COL where teacher- practitioners supervise law students in providing legal services to clients.

THE DLSU COLLEGE of Law and Lex Societas recently hosted a forum on the Cybercrime Law, or RA 10175, with guest speaker Senator Teofisto Guingona III discussing its implications on the people’s freedom of speech.

Australian conference features College of Law professor

DIRECTOR OF THE SUPREME Court of the Philippines Library and DLSU College of Law professor  Atty. Milagros Santos-Ong delivered a lecture on Legal Collection Management for Effective Legal Research in the Philippines at the Australian Law Librarians Conference held in Brisbane, Australia on September 12-14, 2012.

THE DE LA SALLE University College of Law and Lex Societas conducted a forum that discussed the pertinent issues surrounding the impeachment of former Chief Justice Renato Corona.

The issues tackled included the bank accounts of former CJ Corona, the upcoming selection of the next Chief Magistrate, and the matter of where the Republic is heading.
