Donations accepted for DLSU Relief Fund

VOLUNTEERS FROM USG, CSO and COSCA were able to gather donations amounting to P34,390.00 from the attendees of the Animo Night celebrations. Checks amounting to P12,000.00 were deposited with the DLSU Relief Fund (600-135) while P22,390.00 cash was sent to the Social Action Center of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, Bohol this afternoon.

Donations for the survivors of the Central Visayas Earthquake and deposited with the DLSU Relief Fund will be sent to other channels in Bohol or Cebu by Tuesday next week (22 October 2013). Donations in kind will be sent to the Diocese of Tagbilaran, Bohol by Friday (25 October 2013). This is through the generosity of the LBC Foundation and facilitated by the Lasallian Mission Office.

We are still asking Lasallian to keep on donating. This can be done through any of the following means:

For in-campus donation

Deposit it through the DLSU Cashier. Inform them to credit your donations to the DLSU Relief Fund (Acct # 600-135). Please do not forget to send one copy of the official receipt to Ms. Jan Trampe of COSCA for proper acknowledgement.  You may also send all of your in-kind donations to COSCA.

Animolympics: The DLSU Integrated Sportsfest | August 2, 2013

DLSU Election Eye to launch on May 8, 2013

IN LINE WITH the upcoming 2013 midterm elections, the Lasallian community is encouraged to be part of the DLSU Election Eye. This initiative aims:

  • to establish a web-based system that will monitor the 2013 midterm elections
  • to provide transparency to the whole Lasallian community through reports that will be shown in the website
  • to assist different government agencies such as Commission on Election (COMELEC) and Philippine National Police (PNP) in handling election-related concerns before, during and after the elections.
  • to connect social media and SMS in gathering information about the elections
  • to gather information that will be used for the Election 2013 study to be conducted by the  Center for Social Concern and Action

In lieu of classes on February 8, 2013

IN ORDER FOR the Lasallian community to participate in the Mission Statement University Week culminating activities on February 8, 2013, there will be no classes in the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Manila, Makati, and Ortigas campuses from 1:30 p.m. onwards. However, students are encouraged to take part in the celebrations.

Academic and non-academic departments and units will continue their normal operations. Office personnel who want to participate in the activities should ask for the permission of their respective department/unit heads.

Lasallian Enrichment Alternative Program (LEAP) on February 5, 2013

THE LASALLIAN ENRICHMENT Alternative Program (LEAP) is an annual activity during the Mission Statement University Week. It is sponsored by the Council of Student Organizations (CSO) and its accredited organizations, University Student Government (USG) and its college and batch assemblies, and some offices in the University. This annual activity was approved by the Council of Deans in 2001, and has been supported by the university community since then. This year the LEAP is scheduled for Tuesday, February 05, 2013. The LEAP activity is implemented as follows.

Waste reduction efforts with University of California Berkeley

DLSU STUDENTS ARE collaborating with the University of California Berkeley on efforts to reduce waste in campus.  Facilitated by Campus Sustainability Office head Josemari Calleja, a Skype meeting was held between the two schools last summer to discuss waste reduction goals, initiatives, and achievements.
